as Kastar, Inc.) was founded in 1929 by Samual Kaplan and L. Stark in New York,
New York. The Company later moved to Bellport Long Island where it remained
until it was acquired in 1985 by A & E Incorporated, and moved to Racine,
Wisconsin. Kastar Hand Tools continues to produce quality tools, such as thickness and
spark plug gauges, ratcheting box wrenches, rethreading tools,
axle/spindle nut sockets,
and a wide variety of other specialty hand and automotive tools for the DIY (Do-It Yourself) and
the Professional Technician. Kastar tools are distributed through Hardware Stores and Automotive Chain
Stores as well as many warehouse distributors across the United States. Kastar tools make tough, time-consuming jobs easy and affordable. From conventional hand tools for around the house, to specialty automotive

The late Daniel M. Lang founded A & E
Incorporated in 1932. From this one-man operation, A & E has developed a family
of companies that manufacture and distribute automotive/industrial specialty tools,
automotive test equipment, retaining ring pliers,
foam products and quality German tools. A & E Incorporated also produces custom contract metal stampings and small engine pulleys.
A & E Incorporated remains a privately owned "family" business.
